Pastor Alston of Queen Chapel AME Church on Hilton Head Island is the longest serving preacher of over 30 years. By law, he will retire this year at age 75. But who will continue preaching the gospel from De Nyew Testament and speak and read in Gullah language? He is thought to be the last preacher reading and speaking in Gullah in the entire 475-mile Gullah-Geechee corridor.
