Hilton Head Island Coffee Roasters
Doug Winters, coffee roaster
Hilton Head Island Coffee Roasters just may become your new best friend when it comes to a nice cup of coffee in the morning. Born from a simple desire to create good quality coffee that could be used to connect to the community, this family has crafted perfect island inspired coffees in small batches. From your choice of organic blends, to women-produced lots, and more, island living can now be enjoyed in a cup of coffee every morning.
It all started with a Christmas present, a 4lb drum roaster that fit right over their grill. Like all good things, this came from a whim when friends and family loved the coffee they began roasting.
Doug Winters is a dad who wears many hats, but besides being an engineer, and real estate broker, now he’s the genius behind the amazing coffee that Hilton Head Island Roasters has to offer. The slow paced lifestyle has caught Doug and his family by the reins and they’ve come to love beach walks and all that the island has to offer them. With that in mind, making batches of coffee in small quantities to ensure quality testing is a very slow paced job. Though he’s only been roasting for two years, he’s studied his heart out on this topic through these years and has come to perfect his craft. Through YouTube studying, trial and error, precision perfecting, and mounds of research, he’s found a way to bring an impeccable batch of coffee to your kitchen.
Hilton Head Island Coffee Roasters prides themselves on their ability to create a unique and distinct flavor of bean, which are roasted outdoors on an open flame. The robust flavor is good until the last sip, and promises to be a new necessity when having your daily cup of coffee.
Being new on the island, the family wanted to put smiles on other’s faces, and they also really loved a good cup of coffee! After doing research on the island, they found no one was roasting the type of coffee flavor that they were searching for, so there was absolutely a need for it in the area. Starting mornings with a cup of hot coffee is a very common thing to do, and its an easy way for people to connect. They wanted to make that experience as delightful and joyful as possible, since it really is the cornerstone of a good day. The family hopes their children will grow up in a world filled with love, joy, and of course, connection. Connection is what drove this family to start roasting their coffee beans, and it is what drives them to keep making batches for people to enjoy.
These roasters wanted to be able to connect with the community in a way that would effect them daily, and by working tirelessly to craft a coffee blend that would be unforgettable, they think they’ve done that.
This amazing coffee is now available at Binya, so you can have an island inspired sip every morning!
