Annell St. Charles

Born in Nashville, Tennesse, Annell St. Charles has spent most of her days lecturing and writing medical books for doctors and the public. St. Charles is a very accomplished woman and has earned a Bachelor's degree from Peabody College, a Master's in Public Health Nutrition, and a Doctorate in Nutrition Science both from the University of Tennessee, while also earning a diploma in photography. As a young adult, her fiction writing really started to blossom, and she found herself loving it. She put it in the background for the time being, but was drawn to it again. She started writing fiction books after taking the plunge, and since then she has offered us an entire world of Hilton Head Island fiction to enjoy.

In her Georgia Ayres Series, she has written two books in particular that Binya has in stock now, The Chances We Take and The Hearts We Trust.

The Chances We Take revolve around a couple, Georgia and Jon who are invited to visit friends in Hilton Head Island. Georgia, usually overly cautious and worry ridden, decides to make a very uncharacteristic decision and agree to the visit. After arriving, she starts to notice unusual things about Hilton Head Island, and realizes that the spirits who reside there are not only active, but need help. She is entrusted with the job of unraveling a man's untimely death from a ghost she meets in the cemetery. As she works on exploring and solving this mystery, she develops close friendships with the descendants of the Gullah people, who offer support and love through her journey.

The Hearts We Trust follows Jon and Georgia who are now deciding to make a permanent move to Hilton Head Island from Nashville Tennessee. They experience challenges, obstacles, and threats of natural disaster. Georgia does love her new life, and clings tightly to the hopes that this new place will draw their family closer together, but in the back of her head, something felt off. Her spiritual amulet she wore felt quiet, and her mind couldn’t be put at ease. This story offers subtle messages that can assist in figuring our way through very trying times.

These books are available now at Binya, and are riveting reads for anyone who wants to learn more about Hilton Head Island, while also being involved in a mystery along the way.
