Join us for our 3rd Basket Weaving Workshop!

Join us for a Sweetgrass Basket Workshop with Andrea Cayetano-Jefferson, a 6th generation basket sewer from Gullah Sweetgrass Baskets!  In this workshop, we will review types of supplied materials: sweetgrass, bulrush, pine needles, palmetto, starter, and nail bone. Then learn how to position the nail bone/tool used to sew and learn techniques to sew baskets. Basket Sewing will be 90-120 minutes and the materials will be provided. Each basket will range in design and size. Each participant will pick a design for their basket after 90 minutes. Instructor(s) will assist each participant with sewing technique and ending of the basket!
