The Perfect Margarita
These hot days have been just brutal lately, between the humid air and blazing sun, its hard to catch a moment where you’re not nearly succumbing to heat exhaustion outdoors! It is great to be able to get some color, but in order to cool off while doing so, an ice cold margarita is absolutely in order- and we just happen have the perfect one to help you beat this heat. (Though, we highly recommend lots of water drinking, too!!)
The Flavors of Ernest Hemingway The Sea Margarita Mix is just what you have been looking for to make the perfect margarita. This non-alcoholic blend was inspired by Hemingway’s time In Cuba, and mimics the feeling you get by the sea, wherever in the world you are. This mix will turn these dreaded hot days into days you look forward to!
Here’s a classic margarita recipe by Serious Sweets that you know and love, but with a margarita mix twist! You can put the mix in place of lime, or if you like it extra citrusy and sour, use both!
What You’ll Need:
1 lime wedge (optional), plus 2 lime wheels for garnish
1 tablespoon coarse salt, for glass rims
4 ounces (120ml) tequila
The Flavors of Ernest Hemingway The Sea Margarita Mix
2 ounces (60ml) triple sec, such as Cointreau
To Combine:
Run lime wedge around the outer rims of 2 rocks glasses and dip rims in salt. Set aside.
In a cocktail shaker, combine tequila, Cointreau, and lime/margarita mix. Fill with ice and shake until thoroughly chilled, about 15 seconds (the bottom of a metal shaker should frost over).
Fill glasses with fresh ice and strain margarita into both glasses. Garnish with lime wheels and serve.
Why stop there? Though this margarita can be enjoyed alone, snacks are always the best way to elevate something even more. Try a refreshing fruit platter, or some chips with guacamole. If you’re going for something a bit more substantial, a fruit and cheese platter can never let you down, and this combination is a total winner in our book alongside this delicious margarita!
Though this hot weather has been exhausting, it doesn’t mean your days need to be spent indoors or in the shade.
