Recipe Feature: Easy Fixin’ Peach Ice Cream

Sallie Ann Robinson is a sixth generation native of Daufuskie island and treasures what she calls her “tough love way of life.”

The Gullah people learned respect, manners, and hard work. They worked for their needs, not wants, and Sallie Ann has taken what she’s learned to heart to this day. She recognizes the strenuous life her ancestors had before her, and always remembers key elements of growing up the Gullah way. Resources were taken from the land around you and you learned to make do with only necessities. Though this life was sometimes a lot of hard work, the simplicity of it all made it beautiful and rewarding.

Sallie Ann Robinson takes recipes from her life and childhood and shows us the delicious ways of real Lowcountry cooking . Now that the sun has hit some all time high temperatures outside, we could all use a cool down with this delicious peach ice cream. The recipe serves 4 to 6 people and is simple, but it packs quite the punch when it comes to flavor! This recipe is classic of using limited ingredients and keeping things simple, while also delicious!
